What We Do For .....
Our Community Our International Projects

Help for victims of Yonkers Fire - We provided quick funding for the residents of 1 Hawley Terrace when their building was destroyed by the Fire and many of them did not have any insurance.

Annual Administrator of the Year Dinner - This is a dinner which we host along with the Yonkers Public Schools to honor their Administrator of the Year. This is done every year at the River View catering hall in Hastings-on-Hudson. We have well over 100 plus people every year. At this event you can be assured to run into Dr. Edwin Quezada, Superintendent of Yonkers Schools, other School District Officials, several Council members as well as State Assembly members.

Annual Pancake Breakast - Every year we host a pancake breakfast for the community of Yonkers. We provide a wonderful breakfast, prizes and entertainment. This is one of our largest fundraisers.

Scholarships for local high school seniors - Every year we hand out 3 scholarships to deserving graduating seniors who are going on to higher education. This scholarship is based solely on community service. These students have shown Service Above Self to their communities.

St. Johns Riverside Hospital - Cosmetology Service Program for Cancer patients to provide wigs to help build cancer patients especially children. In the past we have supported the Aromatherapy Facility - our funding has allowed them to use aromatherapy as a method of treatment as well as providing boom boxes and head phones for relaxing methods and techniques they use for pain management.

CLUSTER Day Camp - We have provided grants for the Summer Camp Program for low-income households or those residing in homeless shelters.

Yonkers Public Library - Telescope Lending Program for the scientific engagement for patrons of the Yonkers Public Library on Central Avenue.

Family Service Society of Yonkers - We have supported their Summer Youth Program for enrichment activities, as well as their Kinship Support Program.

Queen’s Daughters Day Care - We have supported their "Get Moving, Get Fit” for tricycles and playground equipment as well as the program to bring farm animals to Day Care Center to enhance under-privileged kid's learning experience as many of them have never seen live animals.

Food Pantries - For the past several years we have been providing support for the Westchester Food Bank to enhance the capacity of our local food pantries in serving food to Yonkers Residents.

Greyston Foundation - we provide them funding to continually support their community garden program. The monies provided allow them to purchase Gardening tools and materials.

Pencils to every 1st grader in Yonkers Public Schools - Every year the Rotarians in our group spend a couple of days visiting every elementary school in the city of Yonkers to hand deliver a box of pencils to every 1stgrade classroom.

Philharmonic Fine Arts Center - We provide funds to the Fine Arts Center in helping the musicians cover their cost of fees for providing entertainment all year round to the senior citizens of Yonkers.

Salvation Army - Ringing of the Bell Holiday Season - every year we ring the bells in front of Shop Rite on Tuckahoe Road and help raise funds for the Salvation Army during the holiday season. Some of our Rotarians will actually entertain as we all as a group, provide from 10 am to 4 pm constant ringing.

Richmond Center - We have raised funds to purchase much-needed equipment for the severely disabled residents of the Richmond Center, in Yonkers

Summer Reading Buddies - Our Club Members read to young children during the summer to help them with acquiring better reading and comprehension skills.

Yonkers Historical Society -We provide funding in order for them to provide quarterly journals to the public in the city of Yonkers.

CLUSTER Community Services - Provide for CLUSTER Summer Camp Program to offer full and partial scholarships to a 6-week summer camp. Many are from very low-income households.and promote healthy living.

Hudson Valley Justice Center - Provide for 5 educational outreach presentations in Yonkers to inform clients of legal rights and options in areas that include immigration, housing, and consumer law.

YMCA of Yonkers - “Community Dining” – a program that addresses hunger on multiple levels: children, teenagers, adults, older adults, and the homeless.

Westhab, Inc. - Food Pantry at Westhab’s Elm Street Community Resource Center.

Science Barge/Groundworks, Blue Door - “BargeSpeak/ArtSpeak” – Two three-hour workshops on the Hudson River to provide bond connecting the arts, history and the environment.
INTERNATIONALLY...

Books for Costa Rica - We have partnered with other Rotary Clubs and Give-a-Book Foundation and provided books for children in remote area of Costa Rica under a program of collaboration with the Peace Corps.

Building Homes - we have provided funds in order to get the building materials needed to help build homes in Nicaragua.

Sanitary Toilets for rural women - Together with local Rotary Clubs we have helped construct sanitary toilets for women and girls in rural Bangladesh.

Educational Assistance for the under-privileged - We have provided assistance for under-privileged children in Pakistan who were in danger of dropping out of school because of lack of family resources.

Rotary Global Grant Scholarship - We have hosted recipients of the Rotary Global Grant Scholarships for graduate students coming to study at reputed colleges and universities in our area.

School bus for the African Dream Academy - We shipped a school bus for the children of the African Dream Academy in Liberia, who had donated their bus to the local hospital to be turned into an ambulance during the Ebola crisis.

Water Project - We have provided funds to help build a filtration systems in rural areas of countries that do not have any access to water.
