DG Janet presented flags from the year’s 2016-17 that she retrieved from Bermuda. The Flags were for: 100%-member participation in Foundation Giving with club average of $100; and 100%-member participation for EREY with $100 per capita.

Janet also commended the efforts of Shaw and his committee to raise funds for Polio through the Polio Gala. She asserted that District decided the best way to
recognize the group’s important work was by awarding each member a Paul Harris award.

Michelle Hanks from the Cortland Club attended as a make up for having missed her club’s meeting. She observed how easy it was to come to the meeting as the Dolphin is so near the train station. She said she would return.

Ali introduced the evening’s speaker, Dr. Andrew Sayegh. Dr. Sayegh presented a most informative talk on the importance of our nervous system in maintaining
good health. At the age of 35 he was diagnosed with colon cancer, a life-threatening illness. Although he had always been a holistic doctor, it took the terrifying diagnosis to make him realize that most doctors and patients never ask the critical question as to “why” they have become ill. What has broken down for
the body to start degeneration, he asked? It is each person’s responsibility to learn. Because the Central Nervous System controls the body, Dr. Sayegh offers a
test to determine its effectiveness, Electrodiagnostic Infra Imaging which measures capillary control. Before offering this test, Dr. Sayegh has comprehensive interviews with prospective patients to ensure the procedure is necessary. His wife, Karen is an acupuncturist and assists when appropriate. Another procedure offered is the cervicalspondylotic myelopathy which can show damage to the spinal cord. Three of Dr. Sayegh’s patients, who have healed and are drug free accompanied him, including Ali who has overcome severe allergies as a result of the treatment he has received from Dr. Sayegh.

A lively discussion followed.
