Minutes of the 11, 18, and 25 October Meetings were approved unanimously.

Happy Bucks collection totaled $25.00.

Alix reported that AG For Area 4 Bob Stern, has recently suggested that Y-EY, Hartsdale, and Eastchester Clubs meet jointly for a holiday meeting, since the 3 Clubs all meet on Wednesday.

Hostos Micro Society School – Early Act Club – Barbara informed us that this group will meet weekly on Thursdays at 1:45. On Monday-Wednesday they will use that time slot to work on service projects.  Barbara requested that 1 or 2 Y-EY Members also attend each week.  Please let Barbara know when you would be available to attend.  The teacher has appointed a CEO and a CFO.  Discussion was held as to their being inducted on Thursday, 9 or 16 November.

Public Image Seminar – Alix reported that part of the discussion concerned the question:  Who are we reaching out to? What is our target audience? Clubs need to be a part of and reflect their communities.  The seminar discussed the opportunities and options available to develop and execute effective public imaging in both Rotary and business applications. This is an asset which can be used to improve a club’s image in the community and, when effectively applied, create greater interest and visibility for a business or profession as well as build and sustain the Public Image of a Club and Rotary.

There was an extensive discussion on what should be expected of Y-EY members.  Differing views included whether or not there should be an expectation of members to regularly attend meetings and the importance of service.  Bina said the reality is that some who support Y-EY, such as Rev. Julius Walls, are unable to come to meetings but they support the club and its activities. Lisa revealed that when membership was discussed with her there was an expectation of service. Rotarians come with a passion and commitment.  We appreciate those who support Y-EY, we are a club with a focus on service. That is clearly evidenced by variety of activities in which we are involved and the way in which we are viewed by other Clubs and the District.

Sharing Community of Yonkers – Alix informed us that the Sharing Community needs volunteer assistance on Thanksgiving Day.  Please let her know if you are able to help.

Holiday Raffle Tickets – There are 100 tickets available at $100 each.  All Members are encouraged to buy/sell tickets.  (Multiple people can pool together to purchase individual tickets.)  The drawing is December 13.
