Meeting Highlights:
Sundra opened the meeting, with the pledge. The
Invocation was done by Loren. Members recited the 4- way test and sang the Club song..
Happy Bucks in the amount of $16 was collected.
Speaker: Barbara was the Speaker at the meeting. She said all non-profits tend to make a difference and highlighted vocational service and its importance. Barbara did her Masters in public administration. Her first job was as administrator of a Hospital and her last job was at a Community settlement house in Bronx She give us some background of her college life. She said in second year of college, her professor asked her to open preschool in Florida. When She was in NY she met a group of students who wanted to address problems of drugs and she assisted them with it.
Harvey suggested that we need to consider fundraisers to benefit our Club and we should try to get Sponsorships.
Sundra mentioned we need high ethical Standards to serve people. She further recommended that each member can talk every month as to why Rotary became important to them why they chose Rotary. Jeffrey suggested that Tim Hodges be invited to be our guest speaker at the end of the month meeting.
Library for Liberia Concert: Jeffrey said Jim Letsen was of great help and there were a number of sponsors. $1,850 in sponsorships was deposited to the Bank account. Seeme suggested to advertise in Penny Saver or Yonkers Rising
Evening Meeting: It was decided that henceforth our Evening meetings will also be at the Mont Olympos Diner.
Peace Fellow: Members present voted to not recommend previous speaker Imran Kazmi for the Peace Scholarship.
