County Executive George Latimer was asked about the consequences for the country because of the Federal Government shut-down. George said TSA at the county airport suffer from stress and fatigue because of missed payments. Especially troubling is the fear about the air traffic controllers. Will they strike for a contract? There will be problems next week with snap, affordable housing and other lost opportunities. The government shutdown has not yet hit full force.

George Latimer said that we depend on not-for-profit organizations. They do a better job than the government and private for-profit groups and spend less money. We must not privatize education. NGOs augmentation is better.
