Alix opened the Meeting at 12:20 with the Pledge, a Prayer for Rotary and the community, the recitation of the Four-Way Test, and the Rotary song led by Harvey. The Meeting adjourned at 1:35.
Minutes of the 11 October Meeting were not approved due to lack of a quorum.
Alix reminded Members that the District’s Public Image Seminar will be held on Monday, October 23, Doubletree in Tarrytown. Discussion will be on opportunities available to develop effective imaging and to improve the Club within the community.
Club Survey – Alix reported that she has received only 4 responses. This is not enough to reach a consensus of the issues posed. A suggestion was made to discuss this survey at a well-attended meeting.
Community Service Grants – At the time of distribution of the 2016-2017 Grants, recipients were informed that they should contact us to discuss their Grant at a Meeting within 6 months in order to be eligible next year. Several organizations have not reached out to us. Harvey and Peggy will reach out to these groups in order that they schedule a date.
Pencils for 1st-Grade Classes – We are in the process of determining the total number of pencils and pencil boxes needed for this year. Once the numbers are finalized, Members are asked to assist in filling the pencil boxes following a weekly meeting. If you are able to assist in distributing boxes to individual schools, please let Peggy know as soon as possible.
Holiday Raffle Tickets – There are 100 tickets available at $100 each. All Members are encouraged to buy/sell tickets. (Multiple people can pool together to purchase individual tickets.) The drawing date is December 13.
Meeting Venue – 25 October – The Meeting will be held at 6:15 p.m. at the Dolphin Restaurant.
Happy Bucks was collected in the amount of $12.
