President-Elect Sundra Lee-Ingemanson presided over the meeting

Meeting Highlights:
Sundra opened the Meeting at 12:25 with the Pledge, a Prayer for Rotary and the community by Father Philippe,  the recitation of the Four-Way Test, and the Rotary song led by Harvey.  The Meeting adjourned at 1:45 pm
 
Happy Bucks in the amount of $9 was collected.
 
Minutes of the 9 August Meeting were not considered due to the lack of a quorum.
 
George Figueiredo, Managing Partner  of the Outback Steak House was inducted as our newest member.  PDG Matts conducted the induction with Sundra.  George said he believes in being part of the community and looks forward to helping out on our projects. Welcome George, we are very happy to have you among us.
 
Sundra and George volunteered to attend the Kinship Support Field Day (Rotary Day) organized by JCY on 31 August from 11 am to 2:30 pm at Macy Park, Ardsley. They will be helping organize children into activities, pass out box lunches and the art project. Please let Peggy know if anyone else is interested to help out.
 
Sundra announced that the Queen’s Daughters Day Care Center will hold the “Get Moving Get Fit Field Day” on 18 August from 9:30 am to 12 noon, using the Community Service Grant Y-EY provided them.  There will be a tour of the premises and lunch will be provided. The address is 73 Buena Vista Avenue, Yonkers. Please let Peggy know if anyone else wants to attend.
 
Sundra informed us that The Young Professionals Summit will be held in Harlem on 9 September.  The Summit has been scaled down to a one-day event for Rotarians 40 and under and their guests.  If you’re under 40 and interested, let Peggy know.
 
Sundra reminded members to return the Membership Survey which will be sent to all.
 
This month’s evening meeting will be held on 30 August at 6:15 pm at Dolphin Restaurant located at 1 Van Der Donck St., Yonkers NY 10701. Members and Guests can order off the menu and eat whatever they like, paying the restaurant directly.  Drinks will be 30% off at the bar.  Valet parking is available.  Guest Speakers will be Captain Cavorti and Lt. Block of the 4th Precinct. For those able to walk, free parking is available at Beczak at 35 Alexander St., a few blocks away. Invite friends who are interested in Rotary to join us.
 
The Holiday Raffle will have 100 tickets to be sold at $100 each, as has been done before.  The prizes will be $2,500, $1,500 and $1,000.  A committee has been formed with Barbara as the Chair, and Peggy, Manny, Harvey and Lisa as members.
 
Peggy will contact the Board of Education in September for a count of First Grade classrooms, for distribution of pencils.
 
Matts spoke about the Strike Out Hunger baseball game that he and Sundra attended.  RI President Ian Riseley was the main guest at the game.  President Riseley said he believes that RI will have a woman President in the next 3 years.  Matts then proceed to give a history of women in Rotary.  Women have been in all RI positions except the Presidency.
 
Members are being asked to send anniversary dates and spouses name to Peggy, for recognition.  Members are also requested to send their birth dates (you can leave out the year if you wish!)  However, having the year is important for statistical purposes.  Only the Club President and Secretary can see the full birth dates.
