Eradicate Polio Dinner – Shaw reported that this annual event will be held on Saturday, 21 April, at the Tarrytown Double Tree Hotel from 6:00 p.m. until 11:30 p.m.  The cost will be $85 for Rotarians and guests, and $125 for non-Rotarians.  An additional 3% will be added for those using PayPal.  Last year, 140 people attended.  The District is involved in the event this year.  Several tables have already been reserved.  Shaw is hopeful of having Mayor Spano join us that evening.  Further details will be provided.  RI President will address the group via Skype.

Sad News – Manny’s father, Antonio Correia, passed away on Tuesday.  Our deepest condolences to Manny and his family.

Early Act Program – Hostos Micro Society School – Barb updated us on the project for the homeless that the group is participating in.  Travel-size packages of toiletries (i.e., toothpaste, tooth brushes, shampoo, combs, etc.) will be collected during the month of February.  Please bring your items to a Meeting in the next couple of weeks or contact Barb for further information.  Alix approved $175 for the purchase of 50 string backpacks, pending approval by the Board.  Prior to our adjournment, Lisa received approval from The Westchester Bank to allow for their donation of the backpacks.  Thank you, Lisa, and The Westchester Bank.

Speakers – Barb suggested that we should make a more concentrated effort to attract diverse speakers.

Pancake Breakfast – This annual event has been scheduled for Sunday, 15 April, at St. John’s Riverside Hospital. Alix recommended  an initial committee of Peg, Parul, and others who are interested, meet to discuss the variety of issues and attendant time frame of the breakfast. It’s an extremely busy time and organization is critical.  Please contact Peggy regarding any Raffle Prizes you may be able to provide and whether you will be able to assist on the Pancake Breakfast Committee.
