Speaker – Rachel Donchek is employed by Community Hearing Company, a 40-year-old family company.  Their local office is on Tuckahoe Road in the Grassy Sprain center.  She does outreach to many groups, including senior citizens and assisted living facilities.  She is involved in screening interventions other than hearing aids, including cochlear implants and other surgeries.  There is no charge for initial testing.  Rachel is also a prospective of our Club.

Debbie DiMiceli – Jeffrey informed us that Debbie has recently transferred to the Thornwood office of Better Homes and Garden/Rand Realty, as it is closer to her home.  She will remain as a Member of our Club.  He also reported that, prior to her transfer, she had budgeted $500 for our 2017-2018 high school scholarship.  Thank you, Debbie, and best wishes in your new location.

Jeffrey also provided a web site (www.burbio.com), which was initially involved with reporting Yonkers Public Schools events, but has now expanded to local organizations.  He indicated that we might consider adding some of our activities/events to the site.  Individuals may sign up to receive their emails.

EREY (Every Rotarian Every Year) – An email was recently sent from Bina requesting every club Rotarian  to donate a minimum of $25 to the Rotary Foundation.  We had great success last year and every Club Member donated at least $26.50 to the Rotary Foundation.  For that achievement the Club won the Foundation banner.  Please contact Bina for further details.

Literacy Program – Alix revealed that at a recent meeting with Gina Bell and Christine Joufe, Yonkers Board of Education, they expressed interest in funding the Blue Door Art Center Literacy Project. This is a project that Hostos has requested to offer their students art and expand their literacy project.
