Board Meeting Review
(1) There was unanimous support for Mahbub in his run for DG 2020-2021.
(2) Dream Court – Lenny Spano (Westchester School for Special Children) will make a $10,000 donation for the proposed Dream Court in Grant Park.  Janet had previously expressed her interest in pushing forward for a Global Grant.  A total of $30,000 has been pledged/committed.  Janet will reach out to international Clubs for their support hopes that the Rotary Foundation.
(3) Puerto Rico Hurricane Support – The Board has approved a $500 donation for water filters and solar lights for homes of individuals affected at a cost of about $11 each.
(4) Yonkers Federation of Teachers representatives are planning to do a project to support Puerto Rico following the hurricane, and they would like to partner with us on this.
(5) Bangladesh Flood Damaged Schools – The Board approved a donation of $500 from the Y-EY Foundation account.  Previously, at the October Meeting, the Board had committed $500 for another international project – kidney machines in India – which is now on hold.  The Board has now approved the $500 committed for that project to be added for Bangladesh for a total of $1,000.  (As a result of recent flooding there, schools were severely affected.  Many classrooms and contents were destroyed.  Some schools have been demolished as a result.)  Bina noted that as per Alix's approval, through a fund-raising dinner she hosted, she has raised almost $2,000 for this effort all of which has been deposited to the Y-EY Foundation account and a report sent to the Finance Committee.
(6) Scheduling – A draft schedule for the first 6 months of 2018 -  2 Meetings at Luciano’s and 2 Meetings on the West Side each month.  Attendees at West Side Meetings pay the Restaurant directly, thereby eliminating administrative efforts.  Service projects or socials could be scheduled in lieu of some Meetings.  Since many Members don’t drive at night, Sundra suggested that other Members could transport them. (7) YOM (Yonkers on the Move) used last year’s Grant to provide backpacks with our logo to walkers.  Their aim is to encourage all people to walk.

Possible Fundraiser – Loren suggested a “Leap of Faith” fundraiser, whereby people would sponsor others as skydivers.  He will research this further and update us.

Holiday Raffle – The Raffle will be held on Wednesday, 13 December.  All tickets and money must be in to participate in the drawing.
